Glossary

What is a glossary term?

A glossary term is a word your organisation wants translated a fixed way, or not at all. AnyReplay puts up to 200 of them in front of the model on every job.

A glossary term is an organisation-defined pair of a source word or phrase and its required translation, which overrides the translation model's own choice whenever that term appears in a session.

Why it matters

Machine translation is good at sentences and unreliable about names. A product called Vault should not become a French word for a safe, a feature called Spaces should not turn into rooms, and a tier called Pro should stay Pro. A reviewer who sees the wrong word loses trust in the whole replay.

A glossary is how localisation teams have always handled this: a short list of terms with a fixed rendering per language, applied before anyone's judgement, human or machine. In session replay it does double duty, keeping the translated UI consistent with the product's real interface.

How AnyReplay handles it

Each AnyReplay organisation keeps a glossary of term and translation pairs. An empty translation means leave this term exactly as it is, which is the right setting for product names, brand names and code identifiers. Up to 200 glossary entries are placed in the prompt for every translation job and take precedence over the model's judgement. The model is also told to preserve placeholders such as {name}, %s and {{count}} and to leave URLs, emails and identifiers unchanged. Corrections flow into translation memory, so a fixed term stays fixed across every later session. See reviewing sessions in another language and the session translation page.
