What is a sampling rate?
A sampling rate is the share of visitors whose sessions are recorded. AnyReplay decides it once per visitor, so a recorded person stays recorded across pages.

A sampling rate is the fraction of visitors, expressed as a number between 0 and 1, whose sessions a replay SDK records, used to control volume and cost on high-traffic applications.
Why it matters
Recording every session on a busy site is rarely necessary and never free. Sampling lets you record a representative slice, keep within a plan's session quota, and still catch the bugs that affect many people. The Free plan, for example, includes 500 sessions a month; see pricing.
How the sample is chosen matters more than the number. If the decision is made per page load, a recorded user turns into a set of disconnected fragments. If it is made per visitor, you get whole journeys for a smaller set of people, which is what a reviewer actually needs.
How AnyReplay handles it
Both AnyReplay SDKs expose sampleRate, default 1, from 0 to 1. The decision is made once per visitor and remembered, so a recorded person stays recorded across pages and later visits, and an unrecorded one is left alone. On React Native, hand the SDK an AsyncStorage instance through the storage option so it can recognise a returning visitor. Sampling is independent of consent: with requireConsent: true nothing is recorded until the user agrees, whatever the rate.
